Design Principles: Colour Theory Development 1.

From looking at colour theory and how it relates in terms of contrast I have started to create some VERY BASIC designs to put the information into a visual perspective:

With the first design i have contrasted a red and green. These two colours are at the opposite ends of the colour wheel and therefore are very contrasting in terms of not working together. By using these two colours in the same design and layered up, it makes it very difficult to look at as the red blurs into the bright background.

The second image shows how one type colour looks on two very different backgrounds. As you can see, using two similar tones of colour in the first section of the design makes it very difficult to read, as they are both too bright. Where as when you place it on a background that is still bright but not as vivid the designs become a lot simpler and easier to read. It still doesn't work together but it because more readable.

This design shows how a bright background and a dark tone of black as the foreground informative about works well. The use of negative space and contrast really helps to highlight information clearly.
