Mistakes made:
* Missing link - Tree image
* Red and Green is not supposed to be there (spot colours) delete it.
* Ink limit for 'calls to action' all CMYK colours REGISTRATION - Only print in black and white.
Fixing Errors:
* Missing Link
You can find this in the link pannel / palette > you can double click on Red?MARK
and from there you can navagate and find the missing image.
If the link is missing it will print but will be low-res.
Preview to NORMAL VEIW KEYBOARD SHORTCUT IS w. Qmark (?) will be placed on image also.
* Red and Green Spot colours is not supposed to be there.
You should unmark them, check on separations preview, scroll and check to see if they are being used.
Remove from swatches palette. CMYK is ok.
* RES OF Images
Links palette, you can see link info > will give you all information to check image is ok >
PPI (PIXELS PER INC) DPI (DOTS PER INCH) Typical of image taken from web straight to indesign.
To fix the problem > have to get image again from the customer, edit in photoshop > auto update >
hold alt double click on image > opens in photoshop > go to image size > increase resolution here but it will give you high re low quality image, therefore you will need to ring client.
* RGB
links palette > ALWAYS CONVERT TO CMYK before saving as tiff > FOR IMAGES > open in photoshop (use gamete waning to see if there is out of gamete colours) adjust image (use adjust layer) or let photoshop do the work and convert to CMYK. Image will automatically update in Indesign.
* Bleed
There is no bleed > extend image / background etc to the guidelines.
* Applied registration colour
Rather then black you click registration > consequence > go over the link limit > any object that has registration applied, will therefore print on every plate with every link, so that the registration of colours can be checked. Ink limit will show me that it has been exceeded > if used, you will get blurry black text.
Use separations preview; right hand side, as you move mouse over layout the amount of ink used changes. to fix just re-apply the correct colour
* RGB TO CYMK using swatches.
* Scale of images > needs to be 100% > scaled smaller > will not lose quality > but when outputting or printing positives errors may occur.
fix > prepare images to size that you think you need in photoshop > if you ned smaller > scale image in indesign as long as i go back into photoshop and apply scale reduction > links info will tell you how much reduced > alt double click on image > photoshop will open > go to image size > scroll to percent > use info from indesign and type it init will apply the same reduction and size > click ok > save > close > then image updates in indesign. should equal 100 % quality dpi.
At the bottom of indesign window it will tell you the error of document >
Open pre-flight menu > tells you how to fix image > quicker way?
