Design Principles: Type and Grid - Design Sheet (2 - Development)

DESIGN SHEET 2.

With this series of design i chose to focus on a different magazine layout. With this I thought i could be more creative. I also chose to use the greyscale format as the previous design sheet i created looked to busy and not well crafted.

Magazine: Grid layout:

My first designs are yet again quite simple. I wanted to create an appealing layout. So i chose to select the 'S' letter from to draw in readers. I also left the right and page basic and informative.

The pens i decided to use were extremely good in highlighting and expressing text. Different thickness and weights of the pens allowed me to highlight heading // subheading // information and any other types of text within the DPS. They also helped with tonal shading to images created.

The grid format looks quite complicated but when i started to create the designs i felt that it worked quite well. The use of text and image incorporated into the DPS also adds to a more creative layout.

FINAL SET OF DESIGN LAYOUTS FOR DPS:

Throughout all the designs a lot of text is included and when this needs to be digital enhanced and create i will try to cut down so that the dps doesn't look too busy.
