Applying Zine

For a section of this project i really wanted to provide shop users with a complimentroy hand out zine that could be picked up when buying a product and a foldouts with teh shop.

I feel that with this design the zine can be used to inspire and generate conversation surrounding the 1990s. The use of applying quirky images and styles in a simple zine could portay 90s styles basically allowing people to go home and research the content.

Zine with Purchase;

When purchasing a product from the stroe. the shopper can then recieve a complimentory zine. 

I would like the zine to be effective if portaying a fun and expressive type of design. It needs to be bright and use the same colour scheme i have used for my branding.

I wanted teh zine to use imergy like this. i CHOSE THESE Images because they are iconic: iconic in trends and fashion, iconic celberities and iconic shows. They are popular images so people can notice and then develop futher research into the 1990s. 


Zine deVELOPMENT:

With teh zine i am using i wanted to incorpate the patterns i had created for the fylers / postcards. The arrangment of these paterns is key within the design and i feel that the theme needs to be inkeeping.


I decided that the zine, should beminimal and mainly involve images. Images that were realtable to teh audience. I wanted the book to spertae into gurl and boy sections to be inkeeping with the application process.

The reverse of the zine is going to be the boy section. To highlight the change i am planning to create the images upside down so that it is reversable. 

The design process:

With the zine i really wanted to use most of teh work i have doen so far, and to include the work in teh layout. Using my brand logo and the same colour scheme for patterns allows me to devop teh zine. 

Images inkeeping with 09s styls. I had alot of fun playing around with the layout process in this zine. I chose to create a more playful zine so it could grab the audiences atttetion.

Slight elements of text include 09s sayings / stories and facts. I thought this could help to registar a starting point for teh audience. Using images and photogrpahs of well know celebrities makes it easier also.

I am happy with how my zine is developing. I want to keep it minila and limited to a few pages so that it is used to 'flick through. using the patterns i have created i feel that the images i have selcted work well with teh pattern to portray a 90s trending pattern.

STOCK CONSIDERATION:

I do lie teh images on a negative background. The negative space i have left i feel balnces out the page so it is not to busy and bright with colour, i am also trying to bring 90s to modern day life so it is important to keep modern simplicity as well as 90s busy trends of design.

I feel that maybe a purple or light pink stock would work best for this design. It would look effective on white but i feel that the purple could push the concept futher as it is basically the main colour throughout the campaign.
