Flyers and Postcard Development

To promote the 1990s section within urban outfitters i wanted to produce some fylers and postcards. I wanted these designs to be very loud and adapt the 1990s patterns. To start with i used imgery as i anted to keep the design minimal.

I feel that this image doesnt work well as to much pink is used to create the background. The use of placemnt of the pttern does work but i feel it could be improved.

After focus on icons i wanted to introduce objects or products that are found in the 1990s. I chose to use this nike trainer. i STILL FEEL THAT the design needs to be simple. I used sections of colour to create a '1990s' STYle.

I started to add in elements of green that was placed on one of the psttersm i had created. I feel this looks effective as it links a slight element of illustartion to the image.

Adding the pattern into the background i feel works well. The 1990s imgaes are very busy. Chosing the  same colours s on the pattern makes the image work as one.

I quite like these images i have created, but i feel the design is to simple and i want more of a design style. I really would like to incude more shape and texture into the promotional fylers. i NEED THEM TO RESEMBLE 1990s in a clear and focused way.

This image is something i have made that i feel contirbutes alot more to a 1990s trend. The use of shapes within the image does work well. I started to seperate the image to define how different layers could work. I would like to bring this design forward to create a stylistic approach. By adding strokes and drop shaddows to the shapes allows the design to leave a 2d basis and goves the effect of layers, whcih is what i was aiming for.
