Design Ideas

I wanted to start off by designing some variations of typefaces in general, just to get a hand on approach to actual drawing and designs different variations. I chose to design the letter E from the word DISSOLVE. i though E would be quite unique and assessable for the words that describe dissolve, for example - erosion//melting//break up// liquid etc. 

I think these designs are not as creative ad as effective as i first would of liked. I feel they are too simple - but for rough ideas they seem to work well. 

Here's the first initial ideas for some type faces. I don't really love all of these designs but the idea of getting different aspects in is very helpful in me developing my work .
