Design Crowd - Final Designs

These are the final designs that I submitted for the brief. The designs follow the simple illustrative style.

Because this brief was so quick, i feel that the designs are not as fully thought out as i would of liked.
Trying to work on my computer and illustatie skills such as using illustaor was quite difficult for me, and took alot of time. i ELIEVE THIS SET ME BACK ALOT SO I HAVE to be more prepaed on illustaor to gain the best results and teh brief wanted an illustaor file for final submission.

Design Crowd - Digital Designs

I have experimented with hand drawing the designs for the design crowd brief so i will visulize this with expeiemnts digitally :

I took teh hand drawn illustationas and created the same focus.

With the digital versions i wanted to created a vector a shape based product. No lines and tonal to define areas and shades.

I started off at first developing the basic shape. Having the design slightly computerised kept the image quite rough.

Laying out the design developments in terms of scales and design layouts.

I feel that these digital experiements are very simple design, but i do feel it fits the brief. The designs take on a youthful apprach.

Design Crowd - Idea Generation

ONE DAY BRIEF:

QUICK THINKING:

Hand drawing a simple logo design -
Having the t-short design / logo as a b/w image

in the brief it was specificated that the design be quite 'rough'. I took this as handrendered design that i could mainpulate and add text to.

I think that this design is quite effective. Its in a circulare shape and takes on the componemnts of a steering wheel for the priate ship aspect.

i have cleaned up the design slightly so that it doesnt look too scruffy but kept in non straight lines to stick teh the idea of roughness.

Design Crowd - T-shirt Design / Logo

From my experience with teh threadless breif, i logged into my design crowd, there were numberous design brief whichi would be one day briefs.

I have found out since doing this responsive course that one - two days briefs or week breoifs suit the way I work. I feel that with my designs, i tend to get more creatiev when i hve a shorted time limit.

I chose this brief from design crowd:

Create a T-shirt Design
Task Description
EYEYE apparel is a new collection in production as we speak.

It is mid range with high quality garments made from organic cotton, canvas and even a little bit of bamboo.
We are producing Tees, Jackets, hats and pants, but this design will go onto one of the tees, and possibly the back of a few jackets.
We have other designs being worked on but thought it would be cool to put it out there amongst you guys to see what an outside perspective would look like on what is a fairly vague description. Dont be afraid to do whatever comes to mind! We love simplistic design but are not afraid to get a little weird at times either.
The person who wears EYEYE immerses himself in the ocean everyday. He surfs, he free dives and spears fish for him and his girl to eat over a fire on the beach when theres no one around. He drifts over the world, sometimes by himself, like the sailors of yesteryear, not really knowing what he will stumble apon, but always finding what he needs. He has a few tattoos, he is social, in natural settings and in the city. He carries himself with style, mixing with many, then disappearing, upholding his elusive allure.

I stated by researching into different pirate logos and as they highlighted they wanted a pirate ship steering wheel i decied to create once again a hand drawn asthetc and a digitally rendered design,
